Smudging involves burning the actual herb or in this case the holy wood that fills the home with its scent and smoke that clears and brings in the energy in the air. This Palo Santo candle is used to bring in the good, positive, peace, clarity, lucky energy needed once you clear and remove with sage. It’s very important to use sage first then use palo santo! Our palo santo candle was made for purification, spiritual awareness, stress relief, anxiety soothing, bringing in positive and good energies and ultimately providing an energy boost WITHOUT the overwhelming smoke that many are allergic to or are easily irritated by the smoke. You really shouldn’t do one and not the other. When using the sage you keep your windows and front door open. Wait at least 15 min, close all windows and doors and then burn Palo Santo. Our candles are made with pure, organic natural wax, herbs and oils.

Many say ANYONE can use both Sage & Palo Santo, it’s about respecting the culture and its people. I am an Indigenous Afro Latina and disagree, I beleive if you are not native or indigenous you shouldnt use them. There is a valid reason it isnt recommended but if you buy it and use it thats on you. If you do just respect our culture, purchase from places that sourced both sage and palo santo properly and respectfully.
